Join us on Thursday, April 26th for our monthly Science & Spirituality Circle as we explore the big questions of Life, meaning, purpose, wonder, and mystery.
Our theme this month is "Enlightenment Now" sparked by Steven Pinker's new book. Pinker argues that human life is becoming, not worse as many seem to feel, but globally safer, healthier, longer, less violent, more prosperous, better educated, more tolerant and more fulfilling. His book is premised on four big ideas: progress, reason, science, and humanism — the last being defined not mainly in terms of non-theism, but as “the goal of maximizing human flourishing — life, health, happiness, freedom, knowledge, love, richness of experience.” Join us in community for a lively, intimate, and meaningful conversation into the paradox and promise of our time.
