Street Choir at Oscar Grant Plaza

The Thrive Street Choir is being born to sing the music of the revolution. We just had an epic first gathering where hella folks sang into the night. We are unstoppable when we sing together!

We are gathering this month at Oscar Grant Plaza in downtown Oakland to learn our repertoire of movement songs before hitting the streets together at direct actions, marches, and wherever we are needed to show up in these decisive times.

If you're interested in being part of the Thrive Street Choir, we invite you to join us to learn the songs we will be taking to the streets. Invite your people! (Facebook event here)

WHEN: Friday June 23rd from 7 - 9:30pm

WHERE: Oscar Grant Plaza, 14th Street and Broadway in Downtown Oakland

Drums, Tamborines, Shakers, Instruments
A Water Bottle
Blankets / Chairs to sit on
Snacks to share!

These times are asking us to show up in solidarity, and resistance, in the streets, at the Federal Building, at the airport. There are too many threats to list here, our leaders are wielding the fires of hate, greed and delusion. And so we are responding in love and in song.

Have you noticed how important music is in supporting our resistance work? Have you, like so many of us, gravitated towards the music playing when at the Women's March, the People's Climate March? Have you ever wanted to start a chant to get the crowd going, but could not think of the perfect one, or felt intimidated to start it yourself?

Good. Come join us!
