Prosperity Movement is a glimpse of African culture in the urban world. Travel through the lens of Oakland, CA artists WolfHawkJaguar, Osunfemi Wanbi Njeri, and Kele Nitoto as they sonically and visually showcase the beauty, love, and prosperity of Orisa Urban World African Culture.

DJ Mai Girl started her love affair with soul music the first time her mother played her Stevie Wonder’s “Another Star”. Life would never be the same. In years to come, she familiarized herself with more genres of music, including underground hip hop, house, samba and afrobeat. While spinning these genres for ten years on public radio (on and off), she finessed her way into spinning live. She consistently plays one MJ, Stevie, or Prince song every set to remind herself of why she started DJing in the first place. Her unique blend of genres and hand-picked selections keep people moving all night.

The Thrive Choir is a diverse group of vocalists, artists, activists, educators, healers, and community organizers based in Oakland, California. Their heartfelt and soul-stirring original music is a fusion of gospel, soul, and folk. As part of Thrive East Bay, the Choir's music illuminates the joy, pain, and beauty of what it means to be human in this time of systemic transformation.

Thrive East Bay is a community of people committed to transforming our lives, the places we live, and our world. We are a new kind of community informed by modern science and ancient wisdom, infused with a deep sense of purpose and interconnectedness, and focused on social change. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds as we engage in personal growth, shared learning, and collective action.
